A documentary by Mouhssine El Badaoui, 52' & 75'

From a modest village in the Marrakesh region of Morocco, Hanane has only one dream: to become the best fantasia rider. The challenge is daunting, as fantasia, a festive celebration of warrior feats, has been an expensive and traditionally male-dominated activity for centuries.

In a society stuck between tradition and modernity, Hanane will have to struggle every day to keep her female troupe alive and reach the required level. Then, by winning the Tameslouht moussem fantasia, one of the largest in the country, Hanane and her troupe may well pave the way for a generation of young women who aspire to another destiny.
