Synopsis
Moïse, a priest from Burundi, arrives in Belgium to fill the shortage of staff in the local Catholic Church. He settles in Malvil, a commune in the Ardennes region that is preparing to “burn the makrale”, a pagan tradition that heralds the end of winter. The priest quickly realises that the faithful are few and far between in this corner of the world where superstitions die hard. Guided by his dreams of evangelisation, Moïse loses himself in a quest for identity where he risks his life and his faith.
